The Story of Rosarda

The Rosé beer-style was first launched on the Continent during the summer of 2004 and since then has become very popular, particularly in the Netherlands, where just over one third of Rosé beer drinkers are male.

Enjoying Rosarda...

It is the natural rosé colour that gives rise to the Rosarda brand name, because, of course, “Rosada” is the Spanish word for “pink”.

Rosarda Rosé is a new generation beer that meets that widespread demand for “fruity” tasting drinks. It offers the kind of easy-drinking accessibility that appeals to people who normally don’t choose to drink beer due to the hoppy, bitter taste. And wine drinkers show a real interest in its unusual presentation and wine-like positioning. Like rosé wine, it carries connotations of a relaxed Mediterranean life-style.

In a way, Rosé beer is going back to the traditional brewing roots of beer. Because in the Middle Ages, before hops were widely adopted, beers were often flavoured with fruits.

About the beer

Rosarda Rosé is a crisp and refreshing, deliciously fruity beer that is medium-sweet with a well-balanced flavour, a natural fruit aroma and just a hint of light hoppy notes in the finish.

The base is a classic Belgian white beer brewed with wheat and malted barley. It also contains oats, with a consequent smoothness; it is very aromatic with a clean, zesty fruitiness and a faintly herbal tartness. The body is light but smooth and the flavours are complex, with a light, underlying creamy sweetness.

The pure juice of summer berries is blended with this white beer and accounts for 10% of the finished product. The rosé colour of the beer comes from the natural juice of the berries.

The other special ingredient is a dash of golden ale matured for two years in oak barrels. This mature beer gives the blend an underlying subtle bitterness that “cuts” the natural sweetness of the fruit sugars and makes the finished drink very refreshing and very quaffable.
